Mount Pinatubo – Volcano Trek, Pinatubo

“The Giant Awakened” in 1991, after more than four decades of dormancy. In June 1991, Mount Pinatubo erupted so violently that over 5 billion square meters of ash and lava were expelled from the volcano, reaching a height of over 30 kilometers above the volcano’s summit. This eruption claimed the lives of approximately 847 people, injured 184, and left 23 missing. More than a million people were displaced from their homes, and hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate and property were buried under the debris.

Today, the area is one of the well-known tourist attractions in the Philippines, with thousands of travelers visiting every year. During the visit to Mount Pinatubo, travelers also explore the Aetas villages, the indigenous people of the area. Visiting Mount Pinatubo is a remarkable experience, albeit requiring a challenging and lengthy hike, but it’s definitely achievable and worth it.

**There is an age limit (Mount Pinatubo Management): People aged 60 and above cannot take this tour without prior medical approval and a health check before the ascent to the volcano.
