Trek to the Banaue Rice Terraces - Hapao
After breakfast (usually around 08:00 AM unless otherwise arranged with the guide), meet with the guide and take a jeepney ride towards the stunning Banaue Rice Terraces of the Ifugao Province.
To truly appreciate the beauty of the Banaue Rice Terraces, you'll go on a light and experiential trek amidst the terraces.
Along the way, you'll witness the spread of rice terraces across Banaue and the surrounding villages, as well as the viewpoints and villages tucked into the landscape. The terraces, carefully crafted with a complex system of streams and irrigation, are designed in tiered formations. Combined with the unique flowing pattern of the terraces, water is collected in a series of pools and is an essential part of the ecological system of the mountain, allowing the Ifugao people to cultivate rice at altitudes exceeding a thousand meters above sea level.
The terraces were built using primitive tools and the keen creativity of the Ifugao people. If measured vertically from the summit to the base, the rice terraces can reach impressive heights, sometimes ascending the tallest and steepest structures in the world.
With prior arrangement with the guide, there is an option to visit the Bogyah Hotspring. Return time on this day is estimated to be around 15:00, sometimes even earlier, depending on the pace of the tour.
After the tour in the Hapao Village, you'll proceed to the town of Cauayan, which is approximately a 4-hour drive.
Upon arrival in Cauayan, you'll check in for the night.
